Pale skin
28.07.2003
text: Sergey Volkov , exclusively for Gazeta.kz views: [267] As I promised, today we’ll speak about rest. It is a sacred business that people obtained from nature during the epoch of historical materialism. Politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen, and many so called wage workers most often think about rest in summer. However, some Kazakhstani people regret that they won’t have any. Others suffer because it finishes so soon. Today, on the peak of vacation fever we can already talk about the main features of the summer season – 2003. Firstly, not all high rank officials will be able to have some real rest. The reason is well known: in the Danial Akhmetov government new bureaucratic "details" and interinstitutional "knots" are settled. So, top managers can forget about any vacations. Some "underwater" stones of bureaucratic struggles are waiting for them, as well as combats for making up some regular paperwork for new orders, instructions, programmes and decrees. Secondly, regional authorities are not very tranquil either. It also doesn’t want to go for vacations this summer. Due to the change of government in Astana and in relation with the forthcoming elections to maslikhats. September is very close. It means that their bosses won’t let them go. Thirdly, our politicians of all sorts do not think about any rest either. They obviously want to "practice" the parliament elections 2004 and therefore prepare their best ties and speeches for the forthcoming regional elections. By the way, the so-called liberal (I would say too liberal actually), - proved to be the smartest arses among all. They had really nice vacations in June. And their July is not passing in vain. Their chocolate suntan is a beautiful pattern of how one should prepare for political struggles. It is especially important for those, who care so much about all the poor folks in Kazakhstan. Citizens, beware! Fourthly, not all businessmen and not all wage workers in our country are into vacations nowadays. The first ones must think whether to help or not to help to political parties in their elections into maslikhats. And if to help, - to whom and in what amounts. Moreover, the last events around "Russian Aluminium”, "Yukos" and "Menatep" companies in Russia, will for sure make our police and military authorities want to "brandish their swords". As for the second ones, - sadly, we must state: they didn’t manage to save any money for vacations. And, finally, fifthly. Our peasants, as usual, never think about vacations in summer. And the most interesting thing is that the "trump" bureaucrats will anyway manage to obtain several (7-10) days somewhere on the seashores for themselves and their dear families. That’s why they made their careers walking on others heads and not only, not to stay in the quiet of their high offices. Taking into consideration our bosses’ lack of popular wit, we can expect that exactly in one month we will see a quite "multicoloured" spectacle of the next government meeting. You know what I’m saying, - a suntan, a pale skin, a suntan, a pale skin, two suntans and one more suntan again. And I even know who’s going to be the most pale in our still new government. And do you, dear readers, guess who? |
